Jeremiah 38:8Ebed-melech went out from the king’s palace and said to the king,
Jeremiah 38:9“My lord the king, these men have acted wickedly in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet. They have dropped him into the cistern, where he will starve to death, for there is no more bread in the city.”
Jeremiah 38:10So the king commanded Ebed-melech the Cushite, “Take thirty men from here with you and pull Jeremiah the prophet out of the cistern before he dies.”
Jeremiah 38:11Then Ebed-melech took the men with him and went to the king’s palace, to a place below the storehouse. From there he took old rags and worn-out clothes and lowered them with ropes to Jeremiah in the cistern.
Jeremiah 38:12Ebed-melech the Cushite cried out to Jeremiah, “Put these worn-out rags and clothes under your arms to pad the ropes.” Jeremiah did so,

Daniel 1:3Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, the chief of his court officials, to bring in some Israelites from the royal family and the nobility—
Daniel 1:4young men without blemish, handsome, gifted in all wisdom, knowledgeable, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace—and to teach them the language and literature of the Chaldeans.
Daniel 1:5The king assigned them daily provisions of the royal food and wine. They were to be trained for three years, after which they were to enter the king’s service.
Daniel 1:6Among these young men were some from Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.
Daniel 1:7The chief official gave them new names: To Daniel he gave the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego.
Daniel 1:8But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the king’s food or wine. So he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself.
Daniel 1:9Now God had granted Daniel favor and compassion from the chief official,
Daniel 1:10but he said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. For why should he see your faces looking thinner than those of the other young men your age? You would endanger my head before the king!”
Daniel 1:11Then Daniel said to the steward whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,
Daniel 1:12“Please test your servants for ten days. Let us be given only vegetables to eat and water to drink.
Daniel 1:13Then compare our appearances with those of the young men who are eating the royal food, and deal with your servants according to what you see.”
Daniel 1:14So he consented to this and tested them for ten days.
Daniel 1:15And at the end of ten days, they looked healthier and better nourished than all the young men who were eating the king’s food.
Daniel 1:16So the steward continued to withhold their choice food and the wine they were to drink, and he gave them vegetables instead.

Acts 8:34“Tell me,” said the eunuch, “who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?”

Acts 8:36As they traveled along the road and came to some water, the eunuch said, “Look, here is water! What is there to prevent me from being baptized?”
Acts 8:38And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and Philip baptized him.
